Ana Bertina Hursh
My name is Ana Bertina Aguilera Hursh. I was born in Morelia, Mich., on July 1, 1986, where I spent part of my childhood. I grew up in the city of Querétaro where I later decided to study at CEDART and complete a degree in Visual Arts at the Autonomous University of Querétaro. I have recently become known as Ana B. Hursh, because I consider that part of my artistic training and education has been greatly influenced by my grandfather, Frank Herbert Hursh Jr. (Wichita Falls, 1929), who studied at Black Mountain College at side of people like Rauschenberg and Cy Twombly. We both decided to study in Mexico City at the Antigua Academia de San Carlos, he around the 50s and me in 2011.
